Project Mosquito Net Distribution Story Gathering Assignment in Kano.
Nigeria accounts for one in every six cases of malaria worldwide, and Kano is a major centre for these cases. To combat this, the Kano state government and the Global Fund launched a campaign using a new technology-supported system to distribute 8 million mosquito nets. This system employs the Red Rose app and the Free Net Card, making the distribution process trackable and preventing mass gatherings.
Field teams are trained to coordinate the distribution, interact with beneficiaries, and use the app and card to record information about the inventory and status of each net. Andrew Esiebo focused on capturing a round of net distribution, documenting the journey from storage hubs to local centres and finally to the beneficiaries. See below for Andrew’s visual story of the distribution process.
