New CULTURE STUDIO
New Culture Studios by Demas Nwoko demonstrates that architecture can be sustainable and culturally grounded. The complex, initiated in 1967, features buildings made from "latcrete" blocks—a mix of laterite soil and Portland cement—along with locally sourced wood and stones, seamlessly blending into the rustic surroundings. The multipurpose rooms and amphitheatre serve as cultural hubs, exemplifying Nwoko's principles of integrating modernity with tradition.
